The monthly natural gas price for residential customers who are on the Standard Choice Offer will down for the month of August.
Effective Aug. 14, Dominion East Ohio's SCO rate will be $2.62 per thousand cubic feet (mcf). That's 25 cents/mcf or 9.5 percent lower than the July rate of $2.87/mcf.
The price is also 28 cents/mcf or 9.6 percent lower than the price of $2.90/mcf a year ago.
The SCO is a monthly rate determined by a state-approved formula.
Under the company's filing, the average SCO residential customer's bill for August would be $32.66, up $1.13 or 3.6 percent, from $31.53 a year ago.
All Dominion East Ohio residential customers also pay two charges directly to Dominion, regardless of their supplier to pay for delivery and other utility costs.
Customers pay a fixed $26.16 for the basic monthly charge and the usage-based charge has gone up 12 cents/mcf to 33 cents/mcf. The charge is made up of several different riders, as allowed by law and a few went up and some went down for the month.
