MGM signs deal with card maker

American Greetings Corp. of Cleveland and MGM Consumer Products announced a deal on Monday giving the greeting card maker access to the studio's catalog of more than 4,100 films and TV shows.

Characters and scenes from MGM productions will be used on American Greetings' products starting in September.

American Greetings' lines include cards, gift wrap, party goods, stationery, calendars, ornaments and electronic greetings.

Some of MGM's better known movies include Rocky, The Pink Panther, Dances with Wolves and Legally Blonde.
