Goodyear selects global executive

Goodyear will soon have a new global head of human resources.

The Akron tire maker announced that Joe Ruocco, 48, a 23-year General Electric veteran, will become senior vice president of human resources effective Aug. 1.

Ruocco will succeed Kathy Geier, who will be retiring after 30 years with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Geier in 2002 was named senior vice president of human resources.

Ruocco most recently was the top human resources executive for GE's $35 billion industrial segment. He will report directly to Goodyear Chairman and CEO Robert Keegan.

Goodyear will soon have a new global head of human resources.
