YRC amends rules
on retirement plans
Trucking company YRC Worldwide Inc., the parent of Akron's Roadway, on Tuesday announced it had amended parts of a previously disclosed plan to freeze pension benefits to all nonunion employees.
The new retirement plan will be effective Jan. 1, the company said.
The Overland Park, Kan., company said the amendments include freezing pension accruals for all Roadway LLC pension plans and Yellow Roadway pension plans, including executives, and a supplemental plan for Chairman ad CEO William Zollars effective July 1. The company filing with the SEC said YRC Worldwide expects to consider a replacement supplemental plan for Zollars.
The amendments also clarify parts of the company pension changes, the filing said.

Comair plans to cut
pilots, attendants
Regional airline Comair said Tuesday that it expects to cut about one-fifth of its pilots and flight attendant jobs beginning this fall as part of parent Delta Air Lines Inc.'s overall cost reductions in response to high fuel costs.
Comair of Eglanger, Ky., announced in January that it would ground up to 14 50-seat jets this year and fly fewer hours as part of Delta's cuts. Comair has said that it plans $35 million in cuts this year.
The airline already has reduced noncrew staff since the beginning of the year by more than 6 percent.
Delta will cease
service to Toledo
For the second time in as many months, a major airline has announced plans to pull out of Toledo.
Delta Air Lines said Tuesday it will discontinue its passenger service at Toledo Express Airport on Sept. 1.
Delta currently flies three times a day between Toledo and Cincinnati. It had flown nonstop to Atlanta, too, but discontinued that service from Toledo earlier this year.
Last month, Continental Airlines said it would drop Toledo on Sept. 3.
Airport director Eric Frankl says to describe the news from Delta as disappointing would be an understatement.
He says the carrier tells airport officials that high fuel prices have made the Toledo route unprofitable.
Anheuser says bid
is 'illegal scheme'
Anheuser-Busch claims that Belgian brewer InBev's unsolicited takeover bid isn't just bad for the bottom line but is an ''illegal scheme'' that threatens to defraud Anheuser-Busch shareholders if a federal judge doesn't step in.
Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. made the claim in a lawsuit filed late Monday, just hours after InBev SA filed its own motion seeking to oust Anheuser-Busch's board of directors. The lawsuit, filed in St. Louis federal court, claims InBev is deceiving Anheuser shareholders about the $46 billion takeover bid by concealing a number of facts.
The suit says InBev doesn't have the solid financing to underwrite the deal, as the company claims, and that it has not disclosed that it operates a brewery in Cuba, which could complicate its efforts to operate in the United States.
