DUBLIN: A new study finds that Wendy's restaurants offer the speediest drive-throughs in the fast-food business.
QSR Magazine reports that a survey conducted by Insula Research found a trip through the drive-through at Wendy's averages just 2 minutes and 11 seconds.
The researchers also say the number of drive-through customers has been declining at Wendy's, which tends to mean faster service times.
Wendy's finished fourth overall for drive-through service when other factors were considered, including how accurately orders are filled.
Chick-fil-A ranked first, followed by McDonald's and Burger King.
Wendy's is owned by Triarc Cos.

Drive through yes, but the food is lousy! The Wendy's on E. Market Street is nasty, not enough employees and truly unorganized! YUCKO!!!! They need to improve the service on the inside and clean the floors behind the counter. It was disgusting and I will never go there again!
On top of how filthy that specific restaurant is, whatever happened to Wendy’s $.99 menu that they were so proud of for so long?? They are down to maybe 3 or 4 items on that menu, and have raised the prices on everything else. In this economy don’t they realize that people are going for the cheap stuff?? Of course they have the fastest drive thru times; no one can afford to eat there anymore. And yes, R. is right. The last few times I’ve been there, no matter which location, they don’t seem to care about cleanliness anymore either. Dave Thomas is probably rolling over in his grave.
Very few fast food restaurants are clean. If you call the 800 number to complain, they could care less. The Wendys on E. Market has problems, and the manager maybe part of the problem.
I like Wendys and the one I go to is clean. Maybe you should complain alil louder about the cleaniest. Call the 800 number. Yeha the dolllar menu has gone up a few cents but i thnk it's still better then McD and BK.
I like the chile at Wendy's. Oh, you'll find an occasional finger rolling around in there, but overall it's quite tasty!
That speed comes at a cost to the poor folks working the window. My daughter would come home in tears because the one in Hartville the manager was like a boot camp officer. She stuck it out for a while but finally went on to a better working environment. Food was never that great either.
Of course it's the fastest! They just throw whatever in the bag and shove it out the window! It doesn't matter if the order is wrong or the food is cold, they just shove it out to you. I refuse to go there anymore, McDonald's 9 times out of 10 is right and the food is cold and not nasty. Forget Wendys.
I have eaten at the Wendy's in Brimfield and my order is always correct, hot and always ready by the time I get to the window to pick it up. The food from McD's across the street is poor at best.
The Wendy's in Norton is very good and clean! They are fast and accurate. I know a lot of the kids who work there, including my daughter and her boyfriend and they have stuck it out for a long time. My other daughter worked there for a long time too. They say it's hard work and fast paced but all fast food restaurants are this way.
I've never had a problem at Wendy's McDonalds YES....
Have to agree w/ Allison. Everytime i go to the chapel hill wendy's drive thru my food is wrong!! EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Then i have to park my car & go in. They usually give me my next meal free & that one is wrong too!! Never ending cycle!!
Of the two Wendy's in the Montrose/Fairlawn area, i have the best experience at the one in Montrose by Steak-n-Shake. Quick service, even during lunch time, and my order is never wrong or cold. Even the people at the windows are courteous and personable.
The Wendy's at W. Market and Miller is horrible! Long lines, cold food, rude window employees, just terrible!
Yes, that's right Wendy's and McDonald's couldn't care less.
We go to the one on Manchester and never had a problem. They do it quick, and we always got what we wanted. They are alot better than McD's Or Burger But(sorry) King. Its not greasy or heavy.
GOOD JOB
This is valuable information for fat b@st@rds.
True, the Wendy's on Norton is fast and clean... but rude as heck. If you go through the drive thru, make sure you can catch your food. The last time I went there, they just about threw it out the window. Coke spilt all over my shirt. Was PO'D. Manager didn't even apologize.
See a dirty restaurant? Notify Summit County Board of Health. Let's clean these dumps up.
The course of the market depends on the demand of consumers. The demand has been growing for payday loans and restaurants. Fast food chains have been seeing a growing balance sheet, but despite the increased revenue from the food places like Arby's and McDonalds, Wendy's has decided to go for the value of thrift in a recession stricken economy. The CEO has announced the chain will be eliminating Wendy's Breakfast from 475 of their stores to start with. Whereas the common folk are getting payday loans to help meet operating costs, Wendy's will be gunning to cut $60 million in spending. The chain promises a return for the breakfast menu in 2011.
