Beacon Journal staff report
The Greater Akron Chamber said two groups YPN (Young Professionals Network) and YPA (Young Professionals of Akron) will be part of the 2nd Joint Holiday Reception and Fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. sponsored by FirstMerit Bank on Dec. 3 at Brubaker's Pub at 357 S. Main St.
A fundraiser for the Adopt-A-Family program will be held. The chamber said donations from last year's party provided gifts for three families with a total of seven children.
Entertainment will be provided by Ryan Humbert, a lifelong Akron-Canton native, who has opened for Chrissie Hynde, Elvis Costello, Third Eye Blind and the Gin Blossoms. Humbert is preparing for a holiday-themed show at the Civic Theatre on Dec. 12.
For reservations, call 330-376-5550 or register online at http://www.greaterakronchamber.org. Deadline is Dec. 1. Cost is a minimum donation of $10.
