Edward Jones

The financial-services firm said it ranked No. 4 on Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For 2014” in its 15th appearance on the list. The firm was the highest-ranking financial-services firm.

BJ’s Charitable Foundation

BJ’s Charitable Foundation said it donated $30,000 to Ohio organizations as part of the company’s support for nonprofits that provide aid for hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, health care and education. The grants were donated to: Mature Services Inc, Akron; Mobile Meals Inc., Akron; Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services, Avon Lake; and Cleveland Foodbank Inc., Cleveland.

The business specializing in truck driving, heavy equipment operation, and oilfield safety training said it received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Cuyahoga Valley Career Center

The Cuyahoga Valley Career Center in Brecksville announced the following new school board members: Frank Mahnic Jr. from Cuyahoga Heights; Jim Virost from Nordonia Hills; and Mark Curtis from Twinsburg.


Jim Mulato

The chief executive officer of EADS North America Test and Services, a division of EADS North America, was named Outstanding Technology CEO by the Orange County Technology Alliance. He is the son of Andrew and Mary Mulato of Louisville, and a 1983 graduate of Ohio State University’s College of Engineering.
