EBO Group Inc. of Sharon Center was named one of the 2014 Best Employers in Ohio by the Ohio SHRM State Council and Best Companies Group. A statewide survey and awards program honors the best places of employment in Ohio.

Pastoral Counseling Service

The nonprofit mental health agency in Akron named new members to its board of directors: Robert Davis, director of finance at The Chapel; Thomas Kyner, vice president of business development at Bowen Engineering; and Alan Papa, president and chief operating officer at Akron General Health System. In addition, Kathy Adkins, tax supervisor at BCG & Co., is shadowing the PCS Board as part of a joint effort of Leadership Akron and Torchbearers.

Daniel P. Johnson

The certified financial planner with Independence Financial Group of Copley was named a licensed advocate with Protected Tomorrows, an advocacy firm for the special needs community.

Joanne Harm

The Tire Town Chapter of the IAAP honored Harm, CAP, as its Member of the Year. She was recognized for her IAAP activities since joining in 1978. She retired as an executive assistant from Wright Tool Co. in Barberton where she worked for 30 years.
