The annual Employee Ownership Conference is organized by the Ohio Employee Ownership Center, a nonprofit center at Kent State University.
This year’s all-day event will be April 24 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn, 3180 W. Market St., Fairlawn.
Preconference events, including the showing of a documentary called We The Owners, are planned for April 23.
Karl Warnke, Davey Tree Expert Co. CEO, will be the morning keynote speaker. Jordana Barrack, with New Belgium Brewing Co., an employee-owned brewery in Fort Collins, Colo., will be the lunch keynote speaker.
Breakout sessions include: ABCs of ESOPs (Employee Stock Ownership Plans) for New Employee Owners; Legal, Administration and Accounting Issues; Selling Your Business to an ESOP; and Culture and Communications.
