More than 800 University of Akron engineering students talked with prospective employers Tuesday at a career fair in the university’s Student Union.
The College of Engineering Career Fair brought in 142 employers who either had jobs or temporary co-op opportunities for the students.
Most of the students were seniors and juniors, with some sophomores and freshmen, the university said. The fair ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than half of this year’s engineering graduating class already have jobs lined up, the university said.
Majors include aerospace systems, corrosion and the polymer area.
The College of Engineering is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
