Leadership Akron is now accepting applications for its 2017 to 2018 Signature Program Class 34.
Leadership Akron’s Signature Program is an Akron community leadership experience, "preparing participants for heightened involvement and leadership in the community. The program enables participants to grow their impact as community leaders, offering behind-the-scenes learning experiences and interaction with top decision-makers," organizers said in a press release.
The program has been training leaders for more than 30 years.
Leadership Akron helps leaders see beyond their own spheres to the bigger picture of the community’s well-being,” said Mark Scheffler, Leadership Akron’s president. “Through our Signature program, participants translate their commitment to lead for the sake of others into leading for the sake of the community’s well-being.”
The program begins with a two-day opening retreat. After the retreat, participants spend one full day every month focusing on a certain aspect of their community. Focus areas include: social services, business, education, the arts, health and others.
Individuals who work or live in Summit County may apply. Application and additional materials can be found at https://www.leadershipakron.org/signatureprogram
The deadline is April 21.
