]]> <![CDATA[Tecnavia_Push_Alerts_Feed]]> Tue, 11 Jul 2017 15:25:00 +0000 en-us <![CDATA[University of Akron football: LaVonne Gauthney named to Rimington Watch List]]> University of Akron football’s starting center LaVonne Gauthney was named to the Rimington Trophy Fall Watch List Tuesday by the Rimington Trophy Committee.

The Rimington Trophy honors the outstanding center in Div. 1 college football.

Gauthney started his Zips career as a defensive lineman before moving to tight end then eventually center last season where he started 11 games.

The watch list contains at least one candidate from each conference.  The Mid-American Conference can claim 10.

The 2017 Rimington Trophy winner will be recognized at the trophy presentation on Jan. 13, 2018, in Lincoln, Neb.
