Central America Medical Outreach, Inc. (CAMO) will host its third Annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 28, at The Pines Golf Club in Orrville. A newborn is saved every other day in the neonatal unit of the Santa Rosa de Copan hospital in Honduras because of funds raised for respiratory equipment at last year’s CAMO Golf Scramble totaling $7,750.The grand prize for the hole-in-one contest is $5,000. Bonus prizes for hole-in-ones on the other par threes are a set of Callaway Big Bertha irons, a Sharp LCD flat screen TV and roundtrip domestic airfare for two. First place scramble team will receive $300 and the second place team will receive $200. Prizes in both men's and women's divisions include longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin. In addition to a 50/50 raffle, other raffle prizes include $100 Golf Galaxy gift certificate, golf pull cart, golf bag stand, a variety of outdoor furniture and games and restaurant gift certificates.
On any given day, CAMO touches 375 lives with services that range from saving a life, restoring vision, hearing or mobility. CAMO’s 16 programs meet needs that would otherwise not be met. “It’s a win-win golf event where you can have fun and help others at the same time,” said Kathy Tschiegg, CAMO Founder and CEO. “Help us to continue to meet unmet critical needs of those not as fortunate as ourselves.”
There is still time to register for the CAMO event. Fees are $75 ($27 tax deductible), per golfer, $300 ($83 tax deductible) per team, $100 ($100 tax deductible) per hole sponsorship and $375 ($183 tax deductible) per foursome with hole sponsorship. Hole sponsorship is one way to participate for those unable to attend. Registration includes: 18 holes + cart, continental breakfast, range balls, door prizes, raffles and lunch. Registration starts at 7:15 AM with a shotgun start at 8 AM. Contact CAMO to participate or sponsor a team: (330) 683-5956.
