Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Community Advancement FundThe Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Community Advancement Fund (HTLCCAF) is delighted to announce it has selected four charities as recipients of its 2008 second quarter distribution of $20,000.
The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Summit County (IHN) again receives support from the HTLCCAF. The grant will enable this group to continue its success in helping families transition into permanent housing. Holy Trinity Lutheran is one of the host sites for this program.
Faith In Action – Interfaith Caregivers (FIA-IC) is targeting its grant to fund a volunteer coordinator. The volunteers help with chores and visits to the elderly, thereby helping them to remain independent.
Gennesaret, Inc. feeds approximately 600 people per week and distributes free donated clothing to the needy using an all-volunteer staff. The grant from the HTLCCAF will be used to purchase food and supplies to enable their efforts.
Akron Community Health Resources, Inc. (ACHR) will use its grant to fund supplies at the ACHR Dental Clinic which serves over 2400 needy patients.
The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Community Advancement Fund (HTLCCAF) was established in 2005 to benefit “needy persons, primarily in Summit County.”
Applications for grants of up to $5,000 are being received quarterly and are due for the next distribution by September 30, 2008. Instructions for application can be downloaded from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church web page (http://trinity.lutheran-church.org/) or by contacting the church office at 330-376-5154. Questions can be directed to Gregg Loesch or Rich Williams.
