The NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls, Akron-Canton's most experienced women's roller derby league, will be hosting the fifth and final home bout of their inaugural season - And Derby for All - on September 13th at Pinnacle Sports in Medina. The skaters of the NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls will be taking to the track against the B-team for the Hammer City Roller Girls from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, making this the NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls' first international bout. The doors open at 5 PM, and the hard-hitting roller derby action starts at 6 PM."Our August bout was a nail-biter, and ended in a one point victory for us," said Jenn "Amber Vendetta" Carmola, Captain of the NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls. "This is the last bout of our very successful first season, and we're looking forward to giving derby fans a show to remember."
The NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls were founded in May of 2007 and have worked tirelessly to bring roller derby, the nation's fastest-growing sport, to the fans of the greater Akron-Canton area.
Fans of all ages are welcome to attend this family-friendly event. Tickets are ten dollars in advance through the NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls' website, NRRGirls.com, or thirteen dollars at the door. Children six and under get in free. Pinnacle Sports is located at 313 Medina Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
The NEO Rock 'n' Roller Girls are still looking for new roller derby girls, refs, volunteers, and sponsors.
