{Beachwood, Ohio} This month, the Centers for Dialysis Care (CDC) and Menorah Park Center for Senior Living will begin a $2 million construction project of the first dialysis center located on a senior living campus in Cuyahoga County, according to Diane P. Wish, president and CEO of the CDC. The new 5,000 square foot, non-sectarian, full-service dialysis center is expected to open in December, 2009.Through this new affiliation, the center will serve post-hospital rehabilitation clients and Campus residents who require dialysis, but may often face many challenges in being transported to and from dialysis centers off-site, especially during times of harsh weather. Easy access through an indoor walkway connecting the new dialysis facility directly to Menorah Park’s Marcus Rehabilitation Center, and flexible appointment times will alleviate this hardship. In addition, the conveniently located center will serve community members living in Beachwood, Mayfield Heights, Lyndhurst, Pepper Pike, Orange and other surrounding eastern suburbs.
The center will have twelve full-service, state-of-the-art dialysis stations designed with the comfort of each individual in mind.
According to the Menorah Park Administrator, Richard Schwalberg, “We are confident that the new dialysis center will benefit our community who are so deserving of first-class care for themselves and their loved ones.”
Both of these non-profit organizations have like missions; to provide innovative services in response to the changing health care needs of our community.
• Founded in 1906, Menorah Park Center for Senior Living has a long history of providing care and services to older adults in the Greater Cleveland area. Menorah Park serves more than 1000 older adults each day who either live on the 42-acre campus or who are still living in their own homes.
• The Centers for Dialysis Care, with collaborating physicians, leads in the treatment of all patients with kidney disease through the delivery of comprehensive dialysis care, dialysis related services, research and education with unsurpassed skill and leading edge technology, since 1974.
