Healthcare IT Consulting Firm Recognized for Long-term Commitment to Sound Business Practices in Operation, Management, and SustainabilitySEVILLE, OHIO – October 30, 2008 - The 5th Annual Medina County Business Awards (MCBA) named Healthcare Innovative Solutions (HIS) this year’s Small Business Enterprise of the Year. Sponsored by Westfield Bank, the awards recognize business excellence in five categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Capital Investment, Small Business Enterprise, Corporate Citizen of the Year-Individual, and Corporate Citizen of the Year-Company. This year’s ceremony also included a Lifetime Achievement in Public Service Award. The Lifetime Achievement is a special award established by the judges to express that the time, effort and contribution to the county are great and are truly reflective of a lifetime, and this year’s Award was presented to U.S. Congressman Ralph Regula of Ohio’s 16th District.
The Small Business Enterprise category recognizes a Medina County owned and operated business with less than 50 employees, demonstrating long-term commitment to sound business practices in operation, management, and sustainability.
A prescreening committee reviewed over 60 applications and recommended the top three nominees for each category to a panel of three judges, who determined this year’s winners. With more than 200 in attendance at the Blair Center in Westfield Center on October 30, the award ceremony was combined with The Medina County Economic Development Corporation’s Autumn Speaker Series which featured keynote speaker Mark Barbash, Chief Economic Development Officer of the Ohio Department of Development.
HIS was honored as the 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Medina County Business Awards. Other achievements and recognition include: 2008 Weatherhead 100 Company, 2008 Crain’s Cleveland Business Women of Note, 2007 and 2008 Leading EDGE Award Winner, and 2006 Top Ten Northeast Ohio Women Business Owners.
Founded in 2001, Healthcare Innovative Solutions is a consulting firm providing customized products and services for EHR (Electronic Health Record) implementation to hospitals and physician practices.
