Akron Author - Debut Novel - Over the Course of a Lifetime by J. G. Woodward

UPublish story by info

Over the Course of a Lifetime by J. G. Woodward is scheduled for publication on 12/8/2008. The Human Rights Campaign receives a $1.00 donation for each paperback and E-Book sold.

The historical fiction novel is written in a setting wherein only ten percent of the population in the United States is heterosexual, and the only difference in the course of history over the past one hundred years is that the majority of the population is gay, instead of straight. This novel challenges the reader to peer into an alternate reality of what the world would be like if the only variable changed was that there was a different ruling majority class.

The story is based in Southern California. Marcus is a straight man born in 1930 whom against all odds, finds the woman of his dreams, in spite of the problems that he and Marie must overcome. They love, they strive, they succeed, and they spend their entire lifetimes together, despite the deck being stacked against them as the most overlooked minority population in the country.

This love story is laced with historical facts and laws that are educational for the reader; yet, it is uproariously funny. It challenges you to bend your conception of past and present time. This novel promises to expand your thinking and to pose questions in your mind. It is uplifting, intellectually intriguing, and best of all, it has a happy ending.

Are you as open-minded as you believe yourself to be? Can you think outside of the box? Over the Course of a Lifetime will guide you to the answers within yourself.

J. G. Woodward, a descendent of Edgar Allan Poe, General Robert E. Lee, and President George Washington, obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Kent State University. She makes her home in Akron, Ohio and she is known as “The People’s Poet,” due to her ability to reach a diversity of readers. Woodward’s remaining two poetry collections scheduled for release are Allegories, to be released in 2009 and Analogies, to be released in 2010. Woodward was a winner in the 2008 J. B. Solomon Poetry Contest and several of her poems are included in that publishing house’s anthology poetry book. Over the Course of a Lifetime is Woodward’s debut fiction novel.

Over the Course of a Lifetime is available in paperback and E-Book format for $19.95 through your retail bookseller of choice.
