AKRON, Ohio (November 9, 2009) – Micah Baird, MD, has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric physiatrist.
A pediatric physiatrist – or physical medicine specialist – treats children with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, brain and spinal cord injury and other conditions that result in limitations and disability with movement.
Dr. Baird earned his medical degree from the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton and completed his pediatrics/physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Baird will work closely with the hospital’s other two pediatric physiatrists, as well as its rehabilitation specialists, including physical, occupational and speech therapists, to help patients who are part of Akron Children’s Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic and Spasticity Program.
