LODI, OHIO, JUNE 8, 2009: The Group Workcamps Foundation of Loveland, Colorado founded in 1977 has provided more than 6 million hours of volunteer service directly helping people in need. This year the Cloverleaf Local School District is proud to be working with Christ the King Lutheran Church of Lodi and the Group Workcamps Foundation, in an effort to help those in our Cloverleaf community who are in need.
Daryl Kubilus, Jr., the superintendent of Cloverleaf Schools, said:”We are pleased to have the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful community outreach effort.” During the week of June 14 – 20, over 400 high school students from seven states will be dedicating their time to the workcamp “Cloverleaf Cares”. Over the course of the week, “Cloverleaf Cares” will be building 10 wheelchair ramps, 13 porches, 5 sets of steps, weatherizing 6 houses and painting 34 houses. Many of the materials required to complete these services will be purchased from local suppliers at no charge to the district or the residents who will be receiving these services. According to Dale Roberts, school board President, planning for the “Cloverleaf Cares” project has been in place about 2 years; projects like this have are part of the districts community outreach initiatives.
