Kristine K. Naragon instructor at KSU Stark and in Green schools
Published on Monday, Mar 17, 2008
Beacon Journal staff report
An accomplished percussionist and music instructor with Green schools and Kent State University died Sunday morning in a three-car accident in Jackson Township.
Kristine K. Naragon, 55, of Canton, died from injuries suffered in the crash, which occurred at 9:11 a.m. at Strausser Street and Lake O'Springs Avenue Northwest, authorities said.
Jackson Township police said the accident left several others injured and closed the intersection for more than five hours.
Naragon was a music professor and percussion instructor at Kent State University's Stark campus and a percussion instructor in Green schools in Summit County, where she had been expected to meet with students Sunday afternoon.
Over the years, Naragon had been involved in several productions at Canton Players Guild and the Carousel Dinner Theatre.
Stark County coroner's investigator Harry Campbell said Naragon died from massive trauma to the head. ''She died instantly, without question,'' Campbell said.
Police are still investigating the accident.
Authorities said one vehicle was traveling south on Lake O'Springs and collided with two vehicles traveling on Strausser. One of the vehicles went into the air, landing on its roof.
Police did not say which vehicle Naragon was driving.
Police said there were three other occupants in the car driven by Naragon.
No other details were released.
