Add Tony Dorsett to the former football players apparently suffering from degenerative brain disease. Add also to the argument for the NFL taking a page from that other football, soccer, as part of curbing dangerous head-to-head collisions.
What football needs is a strong deterrent, something like the red card applied in soccer. Go head-hunting, and a player would be tossed from the game, his team left to play one man down for the remainder. Imagine what Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos would do facing just 10 on defense. You wouldn’t want to do that again.
