Attacks of the outsiders

So Josh Mandel last week voiced dismay about the outside campaign money spent on behalf of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the Republican seeking to unseat Brown told his audience that he would have a tough time keeping pace with the amount spent by the incumbent. Oh, really?

As things stand, allies of Mandel already have unleashed attack ads against Brown exceeding $8 million. The Dispatch noted that the conservative group American Commitment announced on Friday a $1.2 million ad buy.

And Brown’s friends? They’ve spent $2 million attacking Mandel. Imagine that, Josh Mandel content to leave a false impression.
