Starting Thursday, the Akron Zoo's winter hours and admission prices will go into effect.Admission will be $5.50 for adults, down from $9 during the summer. Parking will be reduced to $1.50 from $2. Admission for children ages 2 to 14 will remain $5.50.
Winter hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through April 30. Indoor exhibits such as Legends of the Wild and Komodo Kingdom, put the majority of the zoo's 700 animals on view year round.
Zoo marketing director David Barnhart said visitors will be able to feed the penguins on weekends when temperatures are 40 degrees or below.
The zoo will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and new year's Day.
Starting Thursday, the Akron Zoo's winter hours and admission prices will go into effect.
