Horton, Browns Have Big Weekend. Horton Hears a Who! did extremely well at the box office in its second weekend. According to Box Office Mojo estimates, it was tops for the weekend, with about $25.1 million in revenue.
But Meet the Browns, the latest feature from Tyler Perry, was a strong second with $20 million, and did so when it was in only about 2,000 theaters, compared with Horton's 3,900.
While Perry's fan base is about 65 percent African-American, Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily wrote that ''there is still plenty of crossover because of family-oriented themes.'' So it and family film Horton gave audiences a chance for a multigenerational outing at the movies, perfect for the Easter holiday weekend.

More Movies. The thriller Shutter was third, with about $10.7 million, while Drillbit Taylor was fourth at $10.2 million. 10,000 B.C. finished the top five, with $8.6 million. Never Back Down, starring former Parma resident Sean Faris, slid from third place a week ago to sixth.
Drillbit, starring Owen Wilson and Ravenna native Nate Hartley, was a noticeable disappointment, considering its PG-13 rating promised a wider potential audience than previous, R-rated comedies from producer Judd Apatow. And promotion for the film seemed endless.
Analysts consulted by Finke expected its weekend grosses to be in the $11 million-$14 million range. But it may have been hurt by a familiar story and by Wilson's not doing the publicity circuit.

Local People/Network TV. University of Akron grad and NFL star Jason Taylor competes again on Dancing With the Stars tonight on ABC. He performed quite respectably his first time on the floor, scoring 21 out of a possible 30 points from the judges.
Former Suffield resident Holly Durst continues her search for love as one of the 15 remaining bachelorettes on The Bachelor: London Calling tonight, also on ABC.
Here's some of what ABC is promising: Bachelor Matt Grant ''starts by escorting eight gorgeous women to a sexy fashion show, and when they discover that they are the models, the ladies proceed to try and out-strut each other on the runway. The handsome Brit whisks the other seven women off to Las Vegas for a glamorous evening of gambling and partying like rock stars. Then emotions run high at an explosive cocktail party.''

Thees Ees Zo Etrange! The New York Daily News' Full Disclosure column says actress Rosario Dawson is apparently so taken with her French DJ boyfriend that she recently spent an evening speaking only with a French accent. Dawson grew up in New York.
Dawson also reportedly insisted that her margaritas be served in martini glasses. The News helpfully added that ''a martini glass does nothing to make margaritas classier.''
So I'm still OK drinking from my jelly jar?

Rae Husband Dead. The husband of singer Corinne Bailey Rae was found dead in a Leeds, England, apartment Saturday, British newspapers report.
Jason Rae was a saxophonist with the band Haggis Horns. The Telegraph newspaper said a post-mortem was inconclusive, and police are waiting for a toxicology report. The Sun newspaper said death was a suspected drug overdose. During their investigation, police arrested an unidentified man suspected of supplying controlled drugs, the papers said.
