It's Hobo Weekend in Summit County.
Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, is staging four hobo-themed events Friday through Sunday at Deep Lock Quarry Metro Park in Peninsula.
The events are:
• Hobo Jungle Campfire at 7 p.m. Friday. Enjoy hobo stories and all things hobo. Cook your dinner on one of the grills and bring marshmallows to roast.
• Hobo Trains at 10:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. Saturday. Come dressed as a hobo and ride the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from Akron's Northside Station to Deep Lock Quarry. Tickets are $15. At the park, you can join the hobos for hobo soup, stories, music and kinship. Bring a can of soup or vegetables for the pot. Leftover cans will be donated to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. • Hobo Jungle Campfire at 8 p.m. Saturday. Bring a chair or crate to sit on. Bring marshmallows and hot dogs.
• Hobo Days from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday with music, stories, hobo information, wood carving and election of a Deep Lock Quarry Hobo King and Queen. Bring a can of soup or vegetables for the pot. Author Dandi MacKall will read from and sign copies of her new book, Rudy Rides the Rails, about a young hobo from Akron.

The Action Sports Tour's Dew Tour gets under way today and runs through Sunday at Cleveland's North Coast Harbor.
There will be competition in freestyle motocross, BMX vert, BMX dirt, BMX park, skateboard vert and skateboard park.
The finals will be on Saturday afternoon and evening, with additional exhibitions on Sunday.
NBC will televise the event from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Full-moon walk — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are presenting a full-moon walk across the Kirwan Dam with naturalist Cindy Smith. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Michael J. Kirwan Dam and Reservoir's Visitor Center off Wayland Road east of Ravenna in Paris Township. Wear comfortable shoes (the dam is two miles across). Swim-in movie — Cleveland Metroparks will hold a dive-in movie with a screening of Home Alone at the Ledge Pool & Recreation Area in Hinckley Township. You can watch the movie from the lawn or from rented inner tubes in the heated pool. The doors open at 8 p.m. Cartoons start at 8:30 p.m. and the movie at 8:45 p.m. Children under 8 must be accompanied by adults. No outside flotation equipment is permitted. Road art — The Cuyahoga Valley park's M.D. Garage will host an exhibit of paintings by the Crooked River Gang, a group of local painters, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The garage is off Boston Mills Road east of the Cuyahoga River in the hamlet of Boston.
Cascade Locks hike — The Cascade Locks Park Association is staging a history hike at 11 a.m. Meet at the Mustill Store off West North Street near downtown Akron. Call 330-374-5625 for information.

Cycle Canalway — The Cleveland-based Ohio Canal Corridor is sponsoring Cycle Canalway with a 26-mile bike tour and a 10-mile family ride. Registration for the long ride begins at 7:30 a.m. The ride, including a return on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, starts at 8 a.m. at Cleveland Metroparks' CanalWay Center off East 49th Street south of Grant Avenue in Cuyahoga Heights. For the shorter ride, registration opens at 10 a.m. and the ride begins at 10:30 a.m. After the rides, participants will get a barbecue lunch at the CanalWay Center. Ice cream rides — The Medina County Bicycle Club is staging its Ice Cream Odyssey with three bike rides.
