Stars talk in paparazzi film

From Beacon Journal wire services

Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg, Eva Longoria, Rosie O'Donnell and other celebrities will be featured in Adrian Grenier's upcoming documentary Teenage Paparazzi.

Grenier's film explores his relationship with a 14-year-old paparazzo who took his photo. The documentary will feature Grenier interviewing actors and commentators about the culture of fame.

Paparazzi is being shopped to distributors and might be a feature or miniseries.

Johnson in 'Rome'

Don Johnson is making a return to movies with a turn in Disney's When in Rome.

Rome sees Johnson playing the father of Kristin Bell, who steals coins from an Italian fountain and finds herself receiving visits from numerous strangers who, having previously thrown coins into the fountain, are now in love with her.

Johnson described Rome as ''Capra-esque but with a modern and very contemporary spin on the fun and the comedy.''

Johnson's most recent movie was 1996's Tin Cup; since then, the actor has been busy with TV — the 1996-2001 cop series Nash Bridges, followed by the short-lived drama Just Legal — and a recent trio of European movies.

Bomer to star in pilot

Matthew Bomer has been tapped to star in USA Network's 90-minute pilot White Collar.

White Collar centers on Neal Caffrey (Bomer), a brilliant con artist who, against his will, partners with the head of FBI's white-collar crime unit to solve cases.

More mysteries

Agatha Christie fans will be delirious to know that David Suchet will wax his moustache once more as the little Belgian sleuth in two more Hercule Poirot mysteries on PBS next year. The networks will also welcome a new Miss Marple when Julia McKenzie takes over the role of the nosy little sleuth for three episodes. And Irish actor Kenneth Branagh will not only star but produce Wallender, for Masterpiece Mystery based on the famous detective from the novels of Henning Mankell.

Wife No. 4

Singer Joss Stone has landed the role of Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of Henry VIII in Showtime's spot-on The Tudors. Stone will appear in three episodes of the series' new season now filming in Ireland. The episodes, which will air next year, takes up after Anne Boleyn loses her head and Henry is forced to make a political alliance through marriage.
