Firestone Park fest

AKRON: The Firestone Park Christmas tree will be lighted at a ceremony from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Firestone Park Community Center, 1480 Girard St.

Frosty, Rudolph, a magician, face painting, stories, kids' crafts, a bake sale and food will be available. Santa will arrive at 7 by firetruck to help light the tree.

Cost is $4, or $1 for children 12 or younger with the donation of a nonperishable food item, $2 without the donation. Proceeds benefit the Firestone Park fireworks display fund.
