Color Me Cleveland — The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve begins its weeklong Color Me Cleveland event by featuring 30 of the area's best-known artists positioned around the Cleveland area to create art at outdoor landmark locations. Artists will be working from 1 to 5 p.m. Their work will then be brought back to the Archives' gallery, 1834 E. 123rd St., for an auction and gala on Friday. Tickets to the gala are $75.

Ghost Whisperer — Mary Ann Winkowski is a native of Cleveland and a consultant for the CBS hit show The Ghost Whisperer. She will be at a fundraiser for the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center from 6 to 9 p.m. at Todaro's Party Center, 1820 Akron-Peninsula Road. Appetizers at 6 p.m., program 7 to 9 p.m. Her book, When Ghosts Speak: Understanding the World of Earthbound Spirits, will be on sale. $35. Call 330-928-8092 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

Portraits of Courage — Facing History and Ourselves (http://www.facinghistory.org) seeks stories of local people who take stands and act on behalf of others as nominees for Upstanders: Portraits of Courage.
Finalists will have their stories, along with a professional photo, on display at the Western Reserve Historical Society, Cleveland, for four months as part of the upcoming exhibit, Choosing to Participate.
To enter, Northeast Ohioans are asked to write a brief essay, story or poem that describes how the individual or group has made a difference in the community or the world.
Nominations must be submitted by June 30 by going to http://www.choosingtoparticipate.org/get_involved/nominate_upstander. The exhibit will be held this October through February 2010.
