RICHFIELD: The Richfield Historical Society will host one-hour History of Richfield Walking Tours on Sundays during October.
The tours begin at 1 p.m.
The first tour, Oct. 4, will start at the Historical Society Museum, 3907 Broadview Road, and will be a 1-mile stroll west on Streetsboro Road, followed by an optional ''tea'' at the Taverne of Richfield.
The Oct. 11 walk will begin at the museum and head east on Streetsboro Road to Humphrey Road and back.
The Oct. 18 walk will commence at the museum, head north on Grant Street, west on High Street and then south on Broadview Road, ending at the Museum.
A walk through the West Richfield Cemetery on Broadview Road will take place Oct. 25, starting at the cemetery flagpole.
Also offered Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. will be a ''Memories of the Black School District'' program at 2813 Columbia Road, sponsored by the Richfield Historical Society and Valley Windows Association.
Discussion will focus on the one-room school house in the neighborhood, the families who once lived in that area, the Columbia Road Cemetery and the military road built by General ''Mad'' Anthony Wayne's army on the way to the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
