Missing Mizzy. If you've ever declared something ''altogether ooky,'' then raise a glass to the late Vic Mizzy.
The composer, who died recently at the age of 93, included among his work the unforgettable themes to TV's The Addams Family and Green Acres.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Brooklyn, N.Y., native was a writer of popular songs and music for a host of TV shows and movies. But The Addams Family theme, with its finger-snapping and beat, was so often used that the royalties from it made him rich.
''Two finger snaps and you live in Bel-Air,'' he once said.
He also sang (with overdubbing) the Addams theme, after the studio refused to pay for singers. Now I can't imagine another voice performing it.

Real Reality. A Boston television station has reported that reality-show star Adam ''Baller'' Jasinski was arrested with a load of oxycodone pills — in his pants. Police said he flew from his Florida home to Massachusetts to sell the pills.
Unfortunately, the guy he allegedly planned to sell them to was reportedly working with the DEA, which busted Jasinski.
The report on Myfoxboston.com says Jasinski allegedly confessed he had been selling thousands of the pills and had been funding his enterprise with the $500,000 prize he had received as winner of Big Brother's ninth season.
There's one situation where it would have been smarter to put the money under a mattress.

Hollywood (Quiet) Lives. Considering how raucous some show-biz lives are, it might be comforting to know these items from People.com:
Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon likes to spend weekends with her fella, Jake Gyllenhaal, at her farmhouse outside L.A.
''We have chickens and we grow cucumbers and tomatoes,'' she said. ''I love it. It reminds me of where I grew up in Tennessee.''
And Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) likes quiet evenings with boyfriend Dax Shepard.
''There is almost nothing, barring a natural disaster, that I would let eat into my time at home, playing Scrabble with Dax or talking to my girlfriends,'' Bell said. ''I need to decompress. I need to feel like I'm a person — a human being — first.''

Seagal TV. Action-movie leading man Steven Seagal will star in Steven Seagal Lawman, a reality series premiering Dec. 2 on A&E. It focuses on his work as a sheriff's deputy in Jefferson Parish, La.
''I've been working as an officer in Jefferson Parish for two decades under most people's radar,'' Seagal said in a press release. ''I've decided to work with A&E on this series now because I believe it's important to show the nation all the positive work being accomplished here in the New Orleans area.''
