Ziplines traverse across Ohio this summer, offering a tree-top view of the State.
Thrill seekers are excited about the reopening of Canopy Tours in the Hocking Hills. Here nature lovers zip along 10 ziplines that offer a different perspective of the beautiful Hocking Hills, as they soar over a natural cave, a waterfall and fern-covered rock formations before landing in a Garden of Eden.
Each unique zipline and adventure sky bridge allows guests to zip from tree to tree, getting a bird's-eye view of the scenery and the dramatic rock and cliff formations that make up the Hocking Hills.
Canopy Tours is located just 40 miles southeast of Columbus at 10714 Jackson Street in Rockbridge, Ohio. For reservations call 740-385-9477 or visit hockinghillscanopytours.com.
Across the state, Ozone Zipline Adventures will open this summer in Warren County, Ohio. Zip rides will take place 7 days a week through December, weather permitting. Riders use custom built zipline trolleys made by ERi and use a seat and chest harness combination for added comfort and safety. All participants must wear helmets.
Riders will zip through the Little Miami River Valley and connect to Fort Ancient State Park. Tour guides will tell riders about the history of Southwestern Ohio, the ecology of the region and give information about the Fort Ancient State Memorial, which was recently nominated for a World Heritage Historic Site Designation.
A landing site directly across from Camp Kern will allow tour riders to have the unique experience of not only flying high above the Little Miami Scenic River, but also landing on a platform near the North Watch on the Fort Ancient side of the River.
Ozone Zipline Adventures is a joint effort by the YMCA Camp Kern, Fort Ancient State Memorial and the Ohio Historical Society. Proceeds of the zipline tour will subsidize school programs and make the outdoor education experience affordable to area schools and provide greater assistance to schools in their residential camping experience.
Fort Ancient is North America's largest prehistoric Native American hilltop enclosure and is home to 18,000 feet of earthen walls built over 2,000 years ago. Zip tour riders will soar high above historic points including limestone snake effigies that run adjacent to the Little Miami River and date back 1,000 years.
For more information about Ozone Zipline Adventures call 800-433-1072.
