Year of the Frog — Amphibian Ark's Kevin Zippel will lecture on The Year of the Frog in a Cuyahoga Valley Lyceum lecture in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. His talk will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Happy Days Lodge off state Route 303 in Boston Heights. Sponsored by the park and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association. Valley hike — Ranger Margaret Adams of the National Park Service will lead a 11/2-mile autumn hike from 1 to 3 p.m. Meet at the Oak Hill Trailhead off Oak Hill Road in Boston Township.
Autumn glory — The Cuyahoga Valley National Park's M.D. Garage will host an exhibit of nature's bounty by the Crooked River Gang, a group of local painters, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The garage is off Boston Mills Road east of the Cuyahoga River in the hamlet of Boston.
Foliage ride — The Stark County Park District is staging a fall foliage bike ride from 1 to 3 p.m. along the Towpath Trail and the Olde Muskingum Trail. World of owls — The Medina County Park District will present a nature program on the world of owls. It will begin at 7 p.m. with Laura Jordan of the Medina Raptor Center handling live owls. Nature drawing — The Medina County Park District will present a program on nature drawing from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wolf Creek Environmental Center, 6100 Ridge Road (state Route 94), Sharon Township. North Summit hike — The Portage Trail Walkers Hiking Club will meet at 9 a.m. for a seven-mile hike in the Cuyahoga Valley. Meet at the Pine Lane Trailhead off state Route 303 in Peninsula. Double stars — The Astronomy Club of Akron will host a program on globular clusters at 7 p.m. Weather permitting, the program will be followed by a sky watch. Voyageur canoes — Cleveland Metroparks is sponsoring paddles in a 34-foot Voyageur canoe on Hinckley Lake in northern Medina County. The trips will be at 11 a.m. and 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. They will be offered at those times on Sunday, too. The paddles will begin at the Hinckley Boathouse. Healthy hikes — The National Park Service and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association are staging a healthy hike of six miles in the Cuyahoga Valley park. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Ira Trailhead off Riverview Road north of Ira Road in Cuyahoga Falls.
Puppet hike — Bring your favorite puppet and join the puppet hike along the Indian Spring Trail at Munroe Falls Metro Park. Meet at 1 p.m. The park is off South River Road in Munroe Falls. Call 330-865-8065 for more information.

Valley run — The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is hosting a trail run at 6 p.m., starting at the Station Road Bridge Trailhead in Brecksville. That's off Riverview Road south of state Route 82. Evening hike — The National Park Service is staging a three-mile hike on the Boston Run Trail from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Meet in the north parking lot at the Happy Days Lodge off state Route 303 in Boston Heights. Wear sturdy shoes.
Mustill hike — The Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. for a three-mile hike on the Towpath Trail. Meet at the Mustill Store off West North Street near downtown Akron. Call 330-733-3995 for more information.
