Kindred Beer has a new name. A new logo. And it's going statewide.
The Gahanna brewery that launched as Kindred Artisan Ales is now going by Kindred Beer. It also has inked a distribution deal with Premium Beverage Supply and will sell its beers across Ohio later this year.
“We’re excited to introduce ourselves to people all over Ohio,” Kindred CEO Kevin Schmudde said in a prepared statement. "Our mission is just to make beer people love — delicious, approachable, drinkable beer. So we hope more people try it and more people love it.”
Kindred, which opened last year, noted that it's available now at The Corner Bar at Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians. The bar is serving Waves and will add Hawaiian Shirt, a Belgian-style white ale infused with hibiscus and mango, next month.
“Hawaiian Shirt is the ultimate summertime beer,” Schmudde said. “We’re amped to serve it at Tribe games.”
Kindred produces both bottles and cans. It also will release sour beers later this spring.
