Kitchens, bath and flooring projects are showcased in Green
Published on Saturday, Apr 26, 2008
The design center portion of Wagler's Homestore in Green will celebrate its official grand opening Thursday through next Saturday.
The Home Renovation and Design Center opened quietly a number of months ago, but the grand opening was delayed until the displays were finished, Chief Operating Officer Greg Wagler said.
The center focuses on kitchens, bath and flooring. Wagler said it will sell both products and projects, meaning it caters to both do-it-yourselfers and to people who want to hire Wagler's to do all the design and construction work.
The celebration will include home-improvement consultations, advice, prizes and refreshments.
In addition to the design center, Wagler's Homestore houses Wagler's Hardware Store and the company's Village Handyman Service. It is at 3656 Massillon Road.
Duo's work in magazine
The work of Akron landscape designers Sabrena Schweyer and Samuel Salsbury is showcased in the May issue of Organic Gardening magazine.
A Cleveland backyard landscaped by the couple's firm, Salsbury-Schweyer, is featured in the magazine's Steal From a Pro section. The yard, with its timber trellis and cottage-style plantings, is used as an example of creating privacy in a tight space.
Furniture for kids
Walton Hills-based Arhaus Furniture has added children's furniture.
The bedroom collection includes three groupings: Bentley, which is transitional in styling; Serena, which is feminine and French; and Remy, which has a rustic, hand-built look. It also includes the St. Lucia daybed, a feminine, wrought-iron piece with an optional trundle.
Arhaus has stores in 13 states, including locations at 2246 W. Market St. in Akron and 5501 Dressler Road N.W. in Jackson Township.
