Three homes in Richfield will be on the Richfield Town Trust's second annual Historic Home and Garden Tour, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 14, starting at Fellowship Hall, 3909 Broadview Road.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on tour day. A boxed lunch may be ordered in advance for an additional $5.
Besides the homes on the tour, the Richfield Historical Society and several businesses will be open. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available.
Participants should wear comfortable shoes. Children younger than 12 are not permitted, and the tour is not wheelchair-accessible.
The day of the tour, a plant swap will be held on the grounds of the Fellowship Hall. Individuals may bring divisions or cuttings of perennials or houseplants to swap, in waterproof containers and properly identified and labeled. Plants will also be available for purchase.
To order tour tickets or lunches, write a check to Richfield Town Trust and send it with your name, address and phone number to Richfield Town Trust, 4300 W. Streetsboro Road, Richfield 44286. If ordering lunch, indicate the choice of sandwich (ham and cheese, turkey and cheese or vegetarian). Deadline is June 8.

Restoring houses
A series of workshops on restoration topics is being offered by Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Progress Through Preservation and the Cleveland Restoration Society.
The programs are:
• Burning Money: Maintenance & Energy Efficiency of Old Houses, 9 a.m. June 14.
• House Makeover: Exterior Painting of Your Old House, 9 a.m. June 28.
• Historic Landscapes: The Marriage of House and Gardens, 9 a.m. July 12.
• Replace or Repair? Ask a Contractor, 9 a.m. July 26.
The programs will be in the Carriage House Auditorium at Stan Hywet, 714 N. Portage Path, Akron. Cost is $25 per session or $80 for the series.
Each hourlong workshop will be followed by a question-and-answer session where participants may ask about their own restoration issues. A tour of Stan Hywet relevant to the topic will follow.
