The Medina County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host the Ninth Annual Bankers vs. Barristers Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Garfield Elementary School, 234 S. Broadway, Medina. Raffles and giveaways throughout the day. Walk-ins welcome. 330-723-4565 or 1-877-441-4565.
The West Akron Board of Tradewill host a scramble Golf Outing at 11 a.m. at Barberton Brookside Country Club, 3727 Golf Course Drive, Norton. Proceeds benefit the Akron Fire Department's public education fund. $85 per golfer; $30 dinner only. Call Cheryl Cox at 330-928-4133.
The Akron Jaycee Foundation will host its 13th Annual Benefit Golf Outing & Silent Auction at 8 a.m. at Chippewa Golf Club, 12147 Shank Road, Chippewa Township. The Akron Art Museum's annual wine auction has been expanded into a three-day weekend. Friday night will be a wine-tasting event; Saturday night will be the wine auction featuring Flora Springs Winery's Sean Garvey; and Sunday will feature an elegant champagne brunch with pairings from Schramsberg Vineyards. The Bedford Historical Society will host the Annual Strawberry Festival & Third Annual Classic Car Show on the Square and in downtown Bedford. Hattie Larlham is seeking volunteers for Hooray for Hattiewood 2008, a Hollywood-themed party for people who are disabled, to be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 26. Some areas of need are set-up, decorations and food stations, assisting guests from their vehicles, wait staff, engaging and encouraging guests, and clean-up.
