Big Brothers and Sisters of Summit and Medina Counties will benefit from Arby's restaurants' Help Us Help Kids pin-ups fundraiser being held throughout the area. Today is the final day of the monthlong promotion for patrons to donate $1 and sign a pin-up to hang on the wall of the restaurant. Funds raised will serve children in need with one-to-one mentoring.
The Dr. Robert C. Nicol Memorial Golf Outing will be held at Silver Lake Country Club, 1325 Graham Road, Silver Lake, to benefit the W. Howard Nicol School of Practical Nursing in Green and the Silver Lake Country Club Employee Scholarship Fund. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. 330-688-6066.
Dunkin Brands Community Foundation will host its first Charity Golf Tournament at the Firestone Country Club South Course, 452 E. Warner Road, Akron. The four-person scramble will tee off at 11:30 a.m. and includes a box lunch, dinner and awards reception. $500. Proceeds benefit area foodbanks. The Annual Ronald McDonald House Charity Golf Classic will be held at Portage Country Club, 240 N. Portage Path, Akron. This year's event will offer a limited opportunity for golfers to pair with a retired NFL player. Golf, lunch, dinner, drink coupons, promo gifts, contests, raffle ticket and live and silent auctions. $275. Hudson Community First will host its first Life is Good Watermelon Family Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Hudson Clock Tower Green, state Route 91 in downtown Hudson. Competitions, face painting, equipment for families to play volleyball, Frisbee and relay games, dunk tank, air-bounce for children and food.

The Herb Society at the Hoover Historical Center will host a Summer Garden Tea, Unique Boutique & Herb Garden Tour July 20 at the center, 1875 E. Maple St., North Canton.
