Balog, 74, and her son, Ted Balog of Rittman, finished the race in 32 seconds, just three seconds behind Dallas Davis Sr. and his son, Dallas Davis Jr., who won in 29 seconds.
Davis Sr. was a finalist in the sweepstakes and took his son along as his partner. The pair will take home the $10,000 top prize, contest spokesman Russ Dyer said.
Balog, reached after the contest, said she was able to improve her time considerably because the contest was held outdoors at the Isidore Newman High School football stadium, and the heat made the cream filling in the Oreos soft and easy to lick.
For second place, Balog and her son received Oreo-shaped medallions as well as a large basket of Oreo products.
As depicted in a commercial for the cookies, the contest involves breaking open an Oreo, licking the filling off, putting the cookie back together, dunking it in a cup of milk, eating the cookie and then drinking the milk.
Featured in the contest were NFL quarterback brothers Peyton and Eli Manning. The contest was held at their former high school.
Balog said she also received a football autographed by the Manning brothers and a photo with them.
Two of the 10 other teams in the contest were from Avon and Geneva in Northeast Ohio.
