Q: I enjoyed the follow-up article on Gail Young's pup and appreciate the mention of the University of Akron's Adult Focus. It was good of you to think of us. The reference was very positive. However, while we assisted Gail in her search for a new computer and we did send a request for her fellow students for assistance with furniture, household goods and clothing due to her house fire, Adult Focus is not a service for low-income students.

A: Thanks for the heads-up. Adult Focus works with all students regardless of income. It is an academic support and referral department for adults and nontraditional students. There are no income requirements. When a student has a specific need, you try to help, but income is not a consideration.
