Practice happy dog travel

A: Chances are good that your dog's symptoms are stress related and not motion related, according to Lucy the Wonder Dog at http://www.lucythewonderdog.com.

The rationale is that a puppy's first car trip carried him far from the safety and comfort of his family.

Find a park or grassy area that's a very short ride from the house and drive him there. Be sure to distract him along the way.

At the park, make a fuss and play and give your good boy a treat. You don't have to stay long. Drive home directly — don't forget the distractions — and have another party when you arrive.

Do this every couple days or so, lengthening the rides ever so slightly until you have liftoff. Good luck.
