The Greater Akron Charity Golf Classic to benefit local Akron charities, will be at Firestone Country Club's South Course, 452 E. Warner Road, Akron. Registration and lunch at noon with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Grand prize is a free pass for four to play the South Course at a later date. $375. Call Abby Knowles, 330-664-5226.

The American Cancer Society will host the Pan Ohio Hope Ride,
a noncompetitive 300-mile Cleveland to Cincinnati bicycling tour. The event will raise money and awareness for the Society's Hope Lodges in Ohio and support programs for cancer patients.
