Visitors to the Akron Art Museum may notice some changes in its permanent collection display. The museum has loaned three of its 1960s pop art masterpieces to major exhibits across the continent.
One of the museum's Andy Warhol works, Brillo Boxes, will go to Andy Warhol: Other Voices, Other Rooms, a major survey of Warhol's works in Columbus, where it will be on view at the Wexner Center for the Arts from Sept. 13 to Feb. 15.
The Wexner exhibit will be the only presentation of the exhibition in this country. It will feature films, videos, paintings, drawings, prints, wallpaper, installations, objects, seldom-heard audio and archival material.
Another Warhol piece, Single Elvis, will be on loan to the Warhol Live exhibition, a yearlong tour organized by the Montreal
Museum of Fine Arts. Single Elvis will be in Montreal from Sept. 25 to Jan. 1; the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco from Feb. 14 to May 17; and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh from June 10 to Sept. 15, 2009; Warhol Live will examine the artist's work through a musical perspective.

Sketch Artist — Local portrait artist Shannon Casey will do quick-sketch charcoal portraits from noon to 3 p.m. at Main Street Cupcakes, 238 N. Main St., Hudson. Postcard Collecting — Massillon historian and collector Rudy Turkal talks at 12:10 p.m. at the Massillon Museum's Brown Bag Lunch about one of his passions, postcard collecting, Massillon style. For an hour before and after his program, he will display cards from his collection. Guests bring a sack lunch or enjoy soup, salad or a sandwich catered by Santangelo's. Oral histories sought — The William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum, 800 McKinley Monument Dr. N.W., Canton, has partnered with the nonprofit group, Stories of a Life, to collect and archive oral histories from local residents. Organized by Kevin O'Brien and Rick Senften, Stories of a Life seeks to document amusing, moving, thought-provoking and historical stories relating to life in Northeast Ohio. All interviews will be conducted at the museum. At the end of each 30-minute interview, participants will receive a CD copy of their story. A second copy is stored in the museum's archives. Last days — The exhibit Vatican Splendors from Saint Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and the Swiss Guard, is in its final weeks at the Western Reserve Historical Society, 10825 East Blvd., Cleveland, On Sept. 7, after the end of this 14-week engagement, the show moves on to its third and final stop, St. Paul, Minn., before the entire collection returns to Rome. 216-721-5722 or http://www.wrhs.org.

Art raffle — The Peninsula Art Academy, 1600 W. Mill St., Peninsula, holds the Autumn Art Raffle at PAA through Sept. 27, ending with the annual members' picnic. Raffle tickets can be bought from now until then. There will be a $100 ''Most Sought After'' award to the artist who gets the most tickets. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5.
