A United Way Benefit Concert, sponsored by the law firm Roderick Linton Belfance, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Northside Grill, 111 N. Main St., Akron. Live music by Zach and cash bar. Donations accepted at the door for the United Way.

The Greentown Park Board will host its semiannual Rummage and Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greentown Community Park Building, 9845 Cashner Ave. Light lunch available; bag sale Saturday at noon.

The Tuesday Musical Association will host the Toot Suite Express, a fundraising event, aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from 5 to 10 p.m. Guests will board the train at the Howe Meadow site, 4040 Riverview Road, Cuyahoga Falls, at 5:30 p.m., ride to Rockside Station and back. Big Brothers & Sisters of Portage County will host its Chocolate Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Kent, 1435 E. Main St. $5 will buy samples from eight vendors. Wadsworth All Sports Booster Club will hold a Pancake Breakfast to benefit its Scholarship Fund from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Premier Pontiac-GMC dealership, 2000 Eastern Road, Wadsworth. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 adults, $3 children 12 and under.

The North Canton YMCA will benefit from the 25th annual Boss Hoover Walk to be held at 1 p.m. at Walsh University, 2020 E. Maple St. N.W., North Canton. One-mile handicap-accessible route around the campus, and longer walk where volunteers will guide participants through the State Park trail. $10 fee covers T-shirt, door prizes, refreshments and walk. The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation and the Northeast Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will benefit from the second annual Passionately Pink for the Cure event from 5 to 10 p.m. on three consecutive Sundays today, Oct. 19 and 26 at Downtown 140, 140 N. Main St., Hudson. Music by the Mike Petrone Jazz Quartet, appetizers from executive chef Shawn Monday, desserts from pastry chef Kimberly Horner and a silent auction. $125; $75 of each ticket goes to the charity. 330-655-2940.
