Gifts from nature were prevalent in the silent and live auctions Friday at Earthly Delights.
About 250 people gathered at the Kent State Stark Conference Center in Jackson Township for the benefit for the Wilderness Center near Wilmot. The event is expected to raise more than $100,000 for operations at the nonprofit nature center.
Looking over gifts with a green theme were Mike and Jackie Ziarko, Bill and Sharon Young, Mike and Linda Gill, Bob and Sophie Vitale, Dave and Polly Hartung and Hortense Bobbitt.
Sharon Luntz recommended the roasted vegetable hors d'oeuvres to Faye Heston. Kevin Anderson offered chocolate martinis, the signature drink of the event.
Event chairman Roger Mann introduced attorney Randy Snow, who was honored with the Civic Leadership Award. Snow introduced his wife, Leslee, and family members as he accepted the award on behalf of volunteers.
Mann also recognized previous Civic Leadership Award honorees in attendance, including Ted Boyd, Bob and Linda DeHoff, Bill Luntz, Ron Dougherty, Paul Bishop and Candy Wallace.
Enjoying the event were Gordon Maupin, executive director of the Wilderness Center, and his wife, Margaret; Chuck and Judy Scheurer; Veronica Sirpilla; Richard and Sherry Regula; state Sen. Kirk Schuring and his wife, Darlene; and state Rep. Scott Oelslager and his wife, Elsie.
Behind the scenes, Vicki Capps, Gina Mast, Flo Vinkovich, Lynda Price and Joann Ballbach assisted with the auction items.
