The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center will host a fundraising Evening With Mary Ann Winkowski, the Ghost Whisperer, at 6 p.m. at Todaro's Party Center, 1820 Akron-Peninsula Road, Akron. $35, includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. 330-928-8092.
The Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters and the Muscular Dystrophy Association will host the Hope Ride to greet children at Camp Cheerful. Rides depart from Willoughby Fire Department, 37000 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, for $20 per bike ($10 passenger); and from Norwalk Fire Department, 42 Whittlesey Ave., Norwalk, for $25 per bike ($10 passenger). The Summit County Historical Society will host Afternoon Tea on the Porch from noon to 2 p.m. at the Perkins Stone Mansion, 550 Copley Road, Akron. The Public Animal Welfare Society of Ohio (PAWS Ohio) will combine with local artists to auction donated artwork in the first Art Helping Animals fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 8501 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland. The American Red Cross Stark County Chapter will hold its 18th annual Duck Race fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. at Stadium Park, 1615 Stadium Park Drive, Canton. More than 1,500 plastic ducks will be released into the creek and race to the finish for prizes. Games for children, free blood pressure readings, food, ice cream, music and more.
