Q: I would like to get rid of a liquid propane tank that has been sitting in my garage for 25 years. Unfortunately, the tank still contains liquid propane of the same age as the tank. Because of the age of the tank, none of the local LP dealers wants to have anything to do with it. Any idea on how I can safely dispose of this old tank?
— Andrew J.
A: The Medina County Solid Waste District said it will accept an old tank containing liquid propane on its hazardous waste collection day, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13. You can take the tank on that day to either the Medina County Fairgrounds or the Brunswick service garage, 1238 W. 130th St.
The collection is for Medina County residents only.
