Q: I’ve been on a quest to find suitable places to dispose and/or recycle items from my deceased parents’ home. I’ve had much success; however, I’m still stumped as to where to take hazardous fluids like they once accepted in Cuyahoga Falls. Is there a new location? And where can I take unusable fabric (i.e. soiled, old, scraps) besides the landfill?

A: Summit County residents can take hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center in Stow from July through September. The center is at 1201 Graham Road and is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Information is on the Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority website, www.saswma.org.
The Salvation Army accepts many fabric items, although probably not small scraps. What it can’t sell in its thrift stores is sold for rags.
