Thank you for your email asking me to review my recent purchase. I’m accustomed to receiving requests for feedback on items I’ve bought online from eBay and Amazon, but who knew Lowe’s also respected my opinion? And for an in-store purchase, no less!
When I signed up for a MyLowe’s card, I figured I’d get some promotional emails about sales and maybe some coupons. What a nice surprise to realize we’ve become email pen pals, too.
Now that I’ve spent some time with my new purchase and had the opportunity to, as you put it, “give it a whirl,” I’m ready to respond to your request to “flex your expert knowledge and help other customers like you!”
So here goes:
I absolutely love my new 10-pack of Blue Hawk Steel Screw Eye Hooks (item No. 58403, model No. 605308). In fact, the $1.18 I spent on them (not including tax) might just be the best $1.18 I’ve spent on screw eye hooks, ever. They’re just so — I don’t know — hooky!
I considered other eye hooks, but none had the steely quality of the Blue Hawks. I have not been disappointed.
It is not a stretch to say the Blue Hawk Steel Screw Eye Hooks have improved my quality of life. A few days ago I screwed one into a little wooden horse I had brought back from a vacation. Now it’s a Christmas ornament! The transformation was almost magical! What’s more, I feel confident that the hook’s unparalleled strength will prevent the possibility of the ornament tragically falling from the Christmas tree and annoying one of my cats while it’s napping underneath.
And I think anyone would agree that the number of hooks in the package — 10 — is simply inspired. Some for me, some to share.
The eye hooks have become a useful addition to my hardware chest, along with the assortment of nails, picture hooks, wire caps, washers, bolts, chair leg tips, drawer pulls and other paraphernalia I have purchased from Lowe’s over the years. It’s too bad you didn’t ask me about the switch plate covers I bought there. I have very strong opinions about them. But that’s another email for another day.
Just one little suggestion:
Wouldn’t it be better to put a zippered closure on the package of eye hooks, so I could re-close it and not risk losing the other nine hooks? I would hate not being able to find another Blue Hawk Steel Screw Eye Hook when I need it, not to mention having to shell out another $1.18 for replacements.
Please don’t take that as criticism, by the way. I’m only trying to be helpful! :-)
It is my fervent hope that my review will help others cut through the confusion caused by the myriad screw eye hooks inundating the marketplace. It saddens me to think someone might invest hard-earned money on inferior hooks, only to experience frustration.
It was so great to hear from you, by the way. My husband is settling into his new job, and I’m looking forward to my son coming home for my family’s Thanksgiving celebration. I just hope he doesn’t bring his laundry with him. Ha ha!
Keep in touch!
