A Stark County drinking water project and four sewer projects in Wayne, Stark and Portage counties are getting federal stimulus funds and state loans from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
The village of Brewster will receive $75,103 in federal funds to combine with a $32,303 interest-free loan to extend a waterline to Hillview Mobile Home Park.
Marshallville is receiving $1.2 million in federal funds along with a $711,048 interest-free loan to build an aeration plant that will replace the lagoon system at the village's wastewater treatment plant.
North Canton is getting $212,500 in federal funds and a $236,540 low-interest state loan to reline sanitary sewers.
Aurora is getting $286,348 to abandon Sunny Lake's Boathouse Wastewater Treatment Plant and connect the park to Aurora's sanitary sewer system. That includes $95,000 in federal stimulus funds and a $191,348 low-interest loan.
Creston will receive $163,025 in stimulus funds plus $247,377 in an interest-free state loan to replace a pump station and extend sewers to a new elementary and middle school and to add the high school to the system.
In all Tuesday, the state EPA announced $69.3 million in federal stimulus funds for 38 water and sewer projects across Ohio.
Federal funds now have been earmarked for 267 sewage projects in 160 communities and 65 drinking water projects in 52 Ohio communities.
Ohio has been combining the stimulus funds with state-backed loans.

Where is Akrons
See what happens when you play nice with the government.
Maybe they haven't read the mayor's new facebook page yet and don't know about his accomplishments and important positions he's held..
And Akron gets the Obama money for a fence on a bridge.
Makes sense worthless President and worthless money
Lie Detector, you are right. I'm sure Obama personally picked what projects get funded. He is the one to blame.
You need the fence on the bridge to keep Akronites from jumping off
Akron does not need money to fund their projects. Mayor Plusquellic has the costs already covered and I will gladly pay an increase in my bill to pay for this. The Mayor will work hard to get this funded and people need to give him a break. He is on facebook now and this will get the City in the news. I have faith in Mayor Plusquellic.
